Resolve to be a better version of yourself.

Approximately a month ago, I wrote down (read: typed out) my resolutions for 2014. I have never done this before, except maybe for a school assignment way back when. They say that writing a goal down is the first step in achieving it because it makes it real and not just a notion in your head. So being in the second half of my twenty-somethings, I realized that all the goals I had for myself have long been accomplished and my error was that I never set new goals. And this was concerning me, so I wrote down new goals. They may be vague in places and I will continue to sort that out, but I felt that it was important to at least put pen to paper (figuratively speaking).

And so here they are, republished, out in the open to receive my full attention.

  • Eat healthy
  • Exercise regularly, log 500 miles.
  • Move forward: literally, emotionally, spiritually.
  • Read more, 25 books this year at least.
  • Say yes to things that stretch me.
  • Say no to things that don’t serve me.
  • Write more (hence the new blog).
  • Save money; no frivolous purchases.
  • Travel when I can.
  • Make the hard choices.

Life is hard, that’s what I am learning, and sometimes you just need to focus on the small things. Focusing on the small things makes the bigger things seem easier and so I will focus on controlling what I eat and what I give my time to and hopefully, everything else will seem more manageable.
